We begin welcoming you by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land on which we sit. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future.
Noosa is Kabi Kabi (Gabi Gabi) land, first nation’s people called Noosa “Wantima”, meaning rising up or climbing up. However it came to be given a permanent name of Aboriginal meaning of shade or shadow. “Noothera” or Gnuthuru = shadow or shady place.
Our logo acknowledges the waters flowing past us start at the four lakes of: Lake Cootharaba, Lake Cooroibah, Lake Doonella, Lake Weyba. We acknowledge these lakes, the Noosa River and surrounding lands were and still are Kabi Kabi places of significant cultural and historical heritage to all traditional owners, past, present and future. We ask all visitors to respect these lands and everyone who shares these lands.
